Find products that lose money
Spot the listings that sell below cost and see which variant is dragging the average down.
Use it at the start of a week, or whenever sales look healthy but cash does not. A product with high GMV can still lose money once fees, ads and COGS come out.
What you get
A ranked list of loss-making products and variants, each with the reason behind the loss, ready to reprice, cut ads on, or fix the cost for.
Starter prompt
Show me the products in my Shopee shop that lost money in the last 30 days. Rank them by total loss, say whether each one is missing COGS, and state the exact dates and currency. Do not change anything.
Steps
- Open My shop > Health. The Products losing money diagnostic lists listings that sell for less than they cost, ranked by impact. See Shop health.
- Open the diagnostic to see the exact products behind it, with a recommended fix.
- Go to the Product table and sort the margin column to confirm the worst offenders.
- Read the margin spread chart next to each margin. A wide spread means one variant is losing money while the average looks fine.
- If a product shows no cost, set its COGS first (see Set COGS once) so the loss is measured, not estimated.
